TRAVEL IN YOUR OWN CITY: WATERS OF BERLIN
WHERE ABOUT NOW X TAKE ME TO THE LAKES
Sunday, March 10, 1pm - 7pm
Join us as we celebrate the natural and cultural Waters of Berlin. Be there when historical culture and contemporary art are uniquely combined with natural history through the theme of water.
For this TRAVEL IN YOUR OWN CITY day trip we are teaming up with the creative minds behind Take Me to the Lakes and allowing the waters of city to guide us through Berlin and its hinterlands. Starting at home in our Kiez in Wedding, we will visit our neighbor at the Uferhallen Ulf Saupe, whose mesmerizing large-scale photo works engage with the never-ending changes of water surfaces and waves. From there, we will transition into water in the historical context with an interactive stroll through the inner courtyard of the former healing springs Luisenbad, a 19th century natural health springs. Finally, moving out of the city altogether, we will visit two nearby lakes. Led by the publishers of Take Me to the Lakes, the definitive guide to the natural beauty of the water surrounding Berlin, we will get a glimpse into the natural history of the area and its water. The day will close with a surprise studio visit and drinks with an artist who many of you are probably familiar with (provided you have visited us at the Berlin Travel Festival).
